18,000 hours. Thousands of applicants.
Every District Court in New Zealand.
At 21 I left New Zealand on a self-funded trip around the world, and ended up spending almost 20 years overseas. Much of that time I was based in Australia and London, working with some of the biggest oil companies and car makers on the planet on technical vehicle design, IT security and complex systems, alongside their global partners.
It taught me one thing that still drives everything I do: get the detail right, every time.
After the turn of the millennium I came home to New Zealand. I spent almost ten years in Auckland working with contracts and conveyancing, where precise paperwork is everything and one wrong word can cost you.
It taught me that verbal instructions are unreliable. Written instructions mean accuracy.
After conveyancing, I spent a few years working with investigators, finding people. It was an amazing time, and it sharpened my eye for detail even further.
About seven years ago I started NZ Limited Licence. Since then I've worked with thousands of people on their demerit history, and thousands more who'd been disqualified, most of them for excess breath or blood alcohol. They've come from every walk of life. Some applicants didn't speak a word of English, and one woman I helped was deaf. I've worked with Japanese, Indian, Ukrainian, Russian, French, Iranian and German applicants, all of them with very little English, and got their applications done. Most came to me stuck, stressed and unable to see a way through. I've helped people get their limited licence in District Courts right across New Zealand.
Then there's the human side. Losing your licence can hit hard: your job, your family, your future. I've lost count of the times I've sat on the phone with someone in a really dark place. I know how to talk to people in a way that cuts straight through that. I show them this problem is a lot less terrible than it feels, and that there is always a way forward.
Maybe there's a way forward for you too. Or maybe you're searching for help for your son or daughter, like so many parents do. Either way, I hope you can see I'm the right choice: someone who genuinely cares, and who can get them back on track, back driving and back working.
If you're struggling, free call or text 1737 any time to talk to a trained counsellor.
Built on respect for the process
I couldn't do what I do without the NZ Police Prosecution Service. I've had the privilege of working with prosecutors and PPS staff all over the country for years, and many have become real friends. When some of them retired, they took the time to say goodbye, and that meant a lot.
I've also had District Court judges take the time to ring me and talk through what I do. That respect matters, because it means your documents land in front of people who know the work is done properly.
Why people trust me
- Around 18,000 hours spent on limited licence applications
- Thousands of demerit and disqualified drivers helped
- Applications prepared for District Courts all over New Zealand
- Applicants of every background and language
- Clear instructions at every step, so nothing gets missed
- Decades of database and computer systems experience, combined with law and contracts work
- Obsessive attention to detail on every document
- Thousands of hours developing technology that is second to none
Behind every application is a system I've spent thousands of hours building. It uses state of the art computer systems and official data sources to understand each driver's history, how their driving patterns have developed and exactly where the problems began. That means your documents tell the court the full, accurate story.
