Matthew's Success Story

We got an essential worker back on the road quickly and easily during lockdown

Palmerston North District Court

Matthew needed to be able to drive his truck for work during lockdown – and we made sure he could. The licence matter was heard and granted in Chambers due to COVID-19.

Matthew’s story:

I had never applied for a limited licence before.

When I found out my licence was being suspended due to excess demerit points from speeding, I considered hiring a lawyer, but then saw NZ Limited Licence online and went for it!

The price was the biggest draw for me initially, being far cheaper than the solicitors. I didn’t want to DIY my Limited Licence application, because the whole process seemed really confusing. But Guy guided me through it and provided all the paperwork and templates I needed.

The team helped me put together an affidavit that argued the importance of me being on the road as an essential worker during lockdown, and walked me through the court process.

Due to COVID-19 my application was granted by a Judge in chambers. I wouldn’t have minded going to court, though. I was far more worried about telling work that I had been suspended from driving!

The communication was above and beyond…

What struck me most was the time the NZLL spent on the phone with me. Guy took over 40 minutes talking me through the Limited Licence application the first time we connected, and that was really helpful and reassuring.

You’re always cautious about buying something online – what if it’s a scam, right?! – but it was obvious very quickly that it wasn’t, and the team knew what they were doing.

Guy and Amy were very fast at replying to emails, and answering the phone every single time. If I had to choose 4 words to describe them it would be: efficient, thorough, fast and professional.

I would definitely recommend their service to someone who needed a limited licence, but didn’t want to or can’t afford to go through a lawyer.
